Nestled in the lush hills above Playa Hermosa, Cóbano, Ocean Eye is a 120 m² cabin designed as a quiet retreat immersed in nature, with sweeping views of both the jungle-covered mountains and the Pacific coastline. Its lightweight structure opens wide to the surrounding greenery and ocean horizon through generous glazing, while polished concrete floors anchor the spaces with a cool, durable surface ideal for the tropics. Ceilings in warm melina wood soften the clean, modern lines and frame the changing light over the canopy and the sea.
Inside, the kitchen becomes a focal point, with solid concrete countertops and custom melina wood cabinetry that balance practicality with natural character. Forged-iron doors and window details lend a handcrafted touch and ensure long-lasting performance. The result is a calm, understated interior where indoor and outdoor living flow together, allowing the sounds, colors, and views of the forest and Playa Hermosa to become part of everyday life.
A later phase expanded Ocean Eye with a 162 m² annex that adds both function and comfort. The lower level provides a covered garage for two vehicles, while the upper floor is configured as a bright office with its own balcony and private bathroom, oriented to capture the mountain and ocean views. These spaces are finished with polished concrete floors, solid concrete block walls, wood ceilings, and a marble-textured plaster wall finish.
Wood doors and a metal-and-glass front façade echo the language of the original cabin, and a separate glass pavilion with a wood-lined interior offers an intimate wellness space. Together, these additions transform Ocean Eye into a complete hillside hideaway for living, working, and unwinding between the forest and the sea.
